About

Salem resident Lisa Abbate established A Vision for Salem after researching the issues related to the power plant, including public health, the poor corporate citizenship of the power plant owner, local tax issues, and redevelopment projects of contaminated properties across the country. The founder of wordmountain.com, a successful writing, editing and author coaching company, Lisa helps business owners and sole proprietors write nonfiction books that attract new clients and building their businesses. She also has a strong background in corporate documentation practices, with an emphasis in software/technology documentation. Lisa and her husband believe that their daughter, along with every child, deserves a shot at a long and healthy life--which means emissions from obsolete, unsafe power plants have to go.

As Executive Director, Lisa meets with state and local officials and other environmental groups, and raises public awareness on power plant issues with the goal of power plant closure, site redevelopment, new job creation and fiscal prosperity for her community.

Advisors to A Vision for Salem include conservation attorneys, scientists and environmental activists.

A Vision for Salem thanks the Massachusetts residents who promote A Vision for Salem and its goals for a new energy future.
